The women dress is equally immaculate with elaborate dagging (cloth folded and sewn together, then cut and frayed decoratively) on her sleeves and long train. Her blue under dress is also trimmed with white fur. The renaissance women have special love for jewels and gems but the lady in the portrait is adorning only a plain gold chain with plain gold earrings. A look at the room shows pristine interiors, another sign of wealth on display, the brass chandelier is huge and elaborate .The convex mirror a t the back with the wooden frame and scenes of The Passion appears to be larger than the usual mirrors used during the age, another sign of wealth. A further sign of luxury appears in the bed linings and hangings. The chair and the table placed against the wall shows exquisite carvings. The oriental carpet on the floor also represents the rich taste of this merchant. It is not unusual to see this limitless display of wealth among the rich middle class of that time. The rich style and fashion is evident.
